All My Favorite Learning Resources in Cyber...

Real-world resources to help you break in without job experience

Hey everyone!

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been building a course called “Hacking Your Career”, designed to help newcomers and career changers get into cybersecurity.

This year, Arcanum hit 20+ conferences; giving workshops, trainings, talks, and manning the vendor tables. Across all those events, we kept hearing the same questions:

“Where do I even start in cyber?”
“How do I get hired if I don’t have experience?”

- Students

So this week, we decided to release a few of the most useful modules from “Hacking Your Career” completely free. 🎉

These modules cover my favorite training resources across every domain: Blue, Purple, and Red additionally organized by cost tier: free, cheap, and expensive. Each recommendation made the cut because it actually builds skill, and most include certifications you can add to your resume.

Regulations are piling up, modernize your legacy GRC program…

30% of security leaders today rank compliance as a top-three challenge today. Regulations are piling up. Expectations from leadership are rising. And most security teams are already stretched thin.

Watch this on-demand webinar with Tines, Regscale, and Dragos to learn how you can modernize your legacy GRC program and take a proactive approach to managing risk and compliance. You’ll learn:

  • What’s changing with the current state of GRC and what challenges persist

  • Advice and strategies for balancing agility and innovation with compliance

  • How workflow orchestration and automation can help streamline critical compliance processes

(Note from Jason: This is a Tines, Dragos, and Regscale free Q&A/training on modern GRC. A great watch. )

/ What You’ll Get

  • Curated list of training and cert resources by domain (Blue / Purple / Red) delivered in video format.

  • Sorted by budget level: free → affordable → premium

  • Picks based on real skill-building value, not hype

  • Tips on how to showcase self-study effectively on your resume

/ Why This Matters

A lot of people get stuck between “learning” and “getting hired.” These resources bridge that gap, letting you prove your discipline and domain competency through tangible outputs like mini-certs or project work.

If you don’t have job experience yet, I recommend putting these certifications under an “Extracurriculars” or “Self-Study” section on your resume. It’s one of the best signals to employers that you’ve got initiative and technical chops.
